Two New Jersey Residents Die in Fatal Single-Vehicle Accident on Route 70
A serious car accident on Route 70 in Pemberton Township NJ resulted in two fatalities.
The single-vehicle accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. The victims were in a 2015 Chrysler 200 and traveling eastbound on Route 70. According to authorities, the driver of the car lost control at some point, causing the vehicle to swerve off the roadway. The car eventually came to a stop when it crashed into a tree around Pasadena Road.
Police officers and emergency medical responders rushed to the scene, where they found both victims trapped inside the motor vehicle. Police then worked quickly to remove the victims from the car. According to law enforcement, the vehicle had been split in two as a result of crashing into the tree just off the highway.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Meanwhile, the female victim was airlifted to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton NJ, where doctors in the hospital’s trauma center tried valiantly to save her life.
The two victims, a husband and wife, were from Manchester Township, New Jersey. The male victim was 78 years old and the female victim was 77 years old.
Authorities will no doubt be conducting an investigation into the fatal car accident as they try to determine exactly why the vehicle left the roadway in the first place. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, it is possible that the family members of the victims could potentially file a product liability lawsuit against the car manufacturer.
