Two injured in a seven-car pile-up on New Jersey turnpike
Locals and residents in the region use the New Jersey turnpike on a daily basis. Fluctuations in traffic can cause a car accident on the frequented roadway easily. The numerous amounts of vehicles that utilize the turnpike increase the risk of causing a multiple-vehicle accident. This not only creates a massive accident site, but also, it often results in large amounts of damage, injuries and, sometimes, even death. It is important for drivers to watch their speeds and use caution in times of heavy traffic.
A multiple-car accident occurred on the Jersey Turnpike recently. The crash involved seven vehicles and created a traffic nightmare for drivers traveling in the area. The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. in an eastbound lane in a road construction area. Because the multiple-vehicle accident occurred in a roadwork area where there was no shoulder, emergency responders had difficulty reaching the accident site. Two people in the collision were injured, and hospital officials treated their minor injuries.
The accident is still under investigation, but a preliminary investigation reveals that , most likely , one vehicle caused the other six vehicles to pile up, and the court issued the driver of that single vehicle a summons. Those who find themselves in a similar situation might have a personal injury claim against the careless driver or drivers. Compensation could go to the costs for medical expenses, lost wages, damages to property and pain and suffering.
Roadways with heavy traffic can pose several risks, one being a multiple-vehicle pileup. It is important to watch speeds, travel at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and use caution when changing lanes. Accidents can occur suddenly so it is important to remain attentive and avoid texting while driving.
