Two-car collision between an SUV and truck injures three
Semi-trucks and tractor-trailers are commonly seen on the road and are essential for deliveries for companies and individuals. As the frequency that these large vehicles are on the road increases, the chances of them becoming involved in a truck accident increases as well. Not only are these vehicles enormous in size, they can create large crash sites and cause massive damage to any other vehicles involved.
An accident involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV occurred in Cedarville, and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of the accident at around 10:13 a.m. The accident caused the tractor-trailer to jackknife, which ruptured its fuel tank. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, two women in the SUV were trapped in the vehicle. The fire department had to work to extricate the women. They were removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries. There was a third woman in the SUV, but she refused any medical treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered some minor injuries and also received medical treatment.
Fuel leaked from the truck and a hazmat team had to properly take care of that situation. The roads were closed during cleanup of the accident site. Authorities are still investigating the incident and any details about the cause have not been purported or alleged at this time. A person injured in an accident like this might have a personal injury claim. The accident might have caused some financial burdens and compensation from the suit could go towards medical bills, damages and pain and suffering.
No one plans to be in a truck accident, but they happen anyway. To avoid accidents as often as possible, it is important that drivers watch their speed and distance from other vehicles. It is also crucial that all drivers and passengers wear their seatbelts in order to reduce their injuries if they are involved in an accident.
