Truck accident on New Jersey Turnpike under investigation
Residents of New Jersey witness semi-truck and tractor-trailers being driven on various roadways all the time. Often, these massive vehicles are used to transport large shipments long distances, therefore major roadways are used in order to get deliveries to their destinations on time. Because time is of the essence, truck drivers are frequently in a rush to make their shipments timely, and this can increase the risks of truck accidents.
Authorities and emergency crews were recently called to a crash that involved a tractor-trailer and a van. At around 11:53 a.m., the two vehicles collided near mile-marker 78.5 on the New Jersey Turnpike. The driver of the van was found to be in serious condition and was transported to the hospital via medevac. The condition of the truck driver was not reported at this time.
The accident remains under investigation and officers have not determined the cause of the incident. No reports of negligence and liability have been speculated and no citations have been issued at this time.
A person injured in a truck collision like this could file a personal injury claim. The injured party could suffer various economical and noneconomic losses and the suit could result in compensation being awarded. Expenses such as medical bills, rehabilitation costs, damages, lost wages and pain and suffering could all be covered.
Whether a driver is traveling on a busy road or not, it is important that driver take precaution while traveling near other vehicles. Watching speeds, using caution when changing lanes and not texting while driving can all reduce the chances of a collision.
