Three injured in a truck crash on the New Jersey Turnpike
Regional residents are well aware that the New Jersey Turnpike is not only frequently used but is also an area where accidents can regularly occur. Although car accidents can cause massive wrecks on the Turnpike, truck accidents most often create large accident sites involving multiple vehicles and causes road closures. Drivers should be especially cautious during times of increased traffic. Rush hour can pose numerous risks, and drivers should watch their speeds and avoid texting while driving.
Recently, three people were injured after a tractor-trailer and an automobile collided on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident occurred at around 3:35 p.m. when a vehicle heading northbound ran off the road, hit the median and then apparently reentered the road. Upon reentry, the car entered in front of a tractor-trailer. This caused the car to become trapped beneath the truck and a wreck to ensue.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and transported three people to the hospital. It was not indicated which vehicle the injured came from. At this time, the condition of the truck driver is not known.
The accident is still under investigation and authorities are unable to determine what caused the car to initially run off the road. Whether a passenger within the liable vehicle or the driver or passenger of another vehicle, a person injured in an accident like this might have a personal injury suit. Compensation from the claim would go towards medical bills, lost wages and replacement services. The injured person may also be eligible for pain and suffering.
Whether it is because of rush hour, an accident or inclement weather, drivers should always be cautious during times of increased traffic. Watching speeds and remaining aware of the surroundings on the road could help avoid hazards and reduce the chances of an accident.
