Serious car accident leaves one dead in Freehold Township
Serious car accidents happen throughout America every day, and New Jersey is no exception. Sometimes, however, the scale of some car accidents can be shocking, not just to those involved, but to anyone who reads about it.
That was definitely the case in an accident that occurred on recently in Freehold Township, when a single car crossing the middle line and ran into oncoming traffic, striking three other vehicles. The driver of the car that swerved into oncoming traffic died, while three other people involved in the collision required medical treatment at a hospital.
The ensuing accident investigation did not immediately release any indication as to what actually caused the crash, but the incident occurred at about 6pm – right in the middle of rush hour. A head-on collision is definitely one of the more dangerous types of accidents to be involved in, and the activities of that driver may come under close scrutiny in the coming weeks. Although there was no initial blame for who caused the accident, there are obviously many accidents which are caused by negligent drivers, distracted drivers and drunk drivers. If any of these elements were a factor in the crash, the driver’s insurance company could be facing significant liability.
When a car accident comes about due to someone’s negligence, the victims in the crash are able to file a personal injury lawsuit in order to recover compensation for things like medical expenses and pain and suffering. Only time will tell if the victims in this recent crash will follow that path, but the results of the police investigation could be the determining factor on how the victims proceed.
