Radio personality involved in New Jersey car accident
Popular radio personality Robin Quivers was involved in a New Jersey car accident this weekend. The longtime co-host of the Howard Stern Show said that she was almost killed when a reckless driver spun out in front of her vehicle.
“I was in a car accident,” Quivers told Howard Stern during the Monday edition of the radio show, “This guy came out of a parking lot or some kind of side street like a maniac and he lost control of his car and he hit me. He spun around in a 360 and hit me.”
The driver then fled the scene of the accident. A witness at the scene told authorities that the man was driving with South Carolina license plates and witnesses also gave a sufficient description of the vehicle to lead to the location of the 50-year-old driver. He was issued tickets for failing to report an accident, operating an unregistered vehicle, and reckless driving. The man was also ticketed for leaving the scene of the accident.
Howard Stern asked Quivers why she was unable to avoid hitting the man’s vehicle and questioned whether Quivers slowed down. Quivers said that she did attempt to slow down but that she could not avoid the car accident because the man’s car was spinning out in front of her.
“He tried to make his turn shorter and he turned in the middle of the road. I was the only car there and he plowed into my driver’s side door,” she said.
